Safety Watch Personnel Wanted

Job Summary
This position includes assisting operating companies (clientele) with the implementation of their occupational health & safety standards and industry recommended practices. This is achieved through and by United Safety’s policy, standards, procedures and management direction, as well as monitoring the activities of workers during routine, call-out, or facility maintenance and shutdown projects. This is conducted in a variety of environments in the upstream, midstream and down stream petroleum industry, including plant turnaround and construction projects.

Job Scope
May include, but not be limited to, the following hazardous environment protection roles:

  • Confined space monitor (when workers inside vessels)
  • Fire watch (when workers performing hot work)
  • Bottle watch (operating and attending breathing air supply equipment)
  • Gas monitoring (using electronic gas monitoring devices to assess air quality in work area)
  • Safety monitoring for other activities, including but not limited to: blinding, blanking, valve removal, piping, etc.
  • Breathing apparatus activities

Rescue Technician Wanted

Job Summary
Industrial high angle/tower rescue, rescue from fall protection, confined space entry, knowledge of rescue kit inventory and knots, High Angle Rescue Rope certificate and/or EMT a plus.



Job Scope
United Shutdown Safety Rescue Technicians are experienced with specialized training capable of providing rescue and assist with project safety supervision. These selected personnel are to meet project requirements. The Selection considers work experience, health & physical condition, leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Our employee development program includes the following basics:


  • safety/leadership and loss control 
  • accepted industry practices 
  • legislation requirements 
  • the use of safety and personal protective equipment 
  • inspections and hazard identification observations 
  • emergency response and rescue plans 
  • confined space entry and high angle rescue practices 
  • assure compliance with site safe work codes of practice and procedures 
  • specific job site hazards 
  • safety equipment placement and use 
  • “Emergency Response Team” (ERT) training 

ERT personnel are able to advise and demonstrate leadership. Leading workers at the job site and encouraging safe work practices and behaviours with proper job performance.

Safety Professionals Wanted

Experience in the Industrial field (Chemical plants/refineries, contractors, or environmental companies) and have CSST or OHST (NASP, NCCER, and OSHA 500 a plus).

Hands-on professionals, expected to work on-site (not in office environment), handle audits and reports, verify PPE and safe work practices and environment, constant communication with project managers, contractors, and employees among others.
